Our team will always be happy to help and assist you in any way we can.

Term Dates

We follow the islington council school term dates, follow link https://www.islington.gov.uk/children-and-families/schools/term-and-holiday-dates Viewings take place on Saturdays, these are booked in advance. Our Famly app calender is updated regularly to keep you informed of any closures or scheduled events.

Food Menu

The nursery is committed to ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to enjoy and benefit from a nutritious lunch. We take pride in using fresh ingredients, with meals prepared and cooked onsite. The food children eat at nursery plays a vital role in their development. A well-balanced diet not only supports overall health but also helps children maintain focus, energy, and readiness to learn. Establishing healthy eating habits at a young age gives children the knowledge and foundation they need for the future. Our menu changes weekly and is added to the app for you to view.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement

We have a legal duty to report any concerns about a child’s safety to Children’s Social Care. If staff have concerns about a child, we will usually discuss these with you first. If needed, we may then refer the matter to Children’s Social Care.

Policies

We have a range of policies in place to create a safe, fair and caring environment. We want children to feel safe, know that staff care about them, and feel confident that staff will listen to them.

First Aid

All staff receive first aid training every year. Some staff also have specialist paediatric first aid training. First aid kits are available throughout the nursery. If a child becomes ill or has an accident, staff follow clear procedures to care for them.

Onsite security

Nanny Janes Nursery provides a secure environment. There is CCTV in place and controlled access, so only authorised staff can enter areas where children are present.

Safer Recruitment

We follow a thorough recruitment process. All staff have a full DBS check carried out by the Local Authority.

Outings & Risk Assessments

Staff are trained to carry out risk assessments. These are completed for all outings, and clear procedures are followed.

We have several safeguarding policies available for parents and carers. Some can be found on our website, and others are available on request from reception.

Policies

Please find attached a selection of our policies, including those most commonly requested by parents. If you would like to see a policy that is not included, please speak to our reception staff, who will be happy to help.

GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) explains how we use and protect personal information about you and your child. It also gives you more control over how your data is used. This section of our website explains how we follow the Data Protection Act (2018).
